Client Snapshot
“This is a
photo of Arachova that we took on our trip last September. We had
left Delphi early on our way to Athens, and the morning light was so
good, we had to stop and take this picture. Looks like the “shining
city on the hill.” Just another of the many great moments on our trip.” (Photo Credit: Mark Harms)

Sail in your private hotel from island to island
Board your private yacht, unpack your bag, and take your hotel with you as you explore the unbelievable islands of Greece. What a beautiful and unique way to see each island at its best. With private sailing, you have the flexibility to stay in a spot as long or as little as you wish. You can access parts of the island that the cruise ships never reach and that those staying on the island can reach only if they are avid hikers. Sailing itineraries can allow for full day stops so that you have time to explore both the busiest parts of each island (the shops, museums, and restaurants in or near port) as well as the secluded coves where total privacy is possible for swimming, snorkeling, and sunning. Private sailing allows itineraries to combine both the most famous of islands as well as the little known jewels where time seemingly stopped in years past. For the romantic at heart, dining al fresco on board in a quiet cove with the moonlight sparkling on the water, the gentle lapping of waves against the boat, the marvelous food, the fabulous wine… is an experience not to be missed. For those whose budget allows and who enjoy the sailing experience, the yacht charter is truly the best way to enjoy the ultimate beauty and freedom of the islands.
The current discounts being offered by several boat owners presents a unique opportunity for those who wish to experience the unforgettable Greek islands in this way. These discounts also bring the private sailing opportunity to a greater number of people.

Client Spotlight:
Brenda Schroeder & Jeffrey Wolf
This past October, Hellenic Adventures’ travelers Brenda Schroeder and Jeffrey Wolf journeyed to Greece and Turkey to celebrate their 20th wedding anniversary. This adventurous couple visited Athens, Delphi and Mt. Pelion on mainland Greece, and sailed the Aegean aboard a clipper ship, the Star Clipper. While sailing, they had the opportunity to visit the romantic Greek isles of Rhodes and Santorini; the ancient theatre of Epidaurus found amongst orange and olive groves in the Peloponnese; and the western coast of Turkey stopping in Bodrum (the ancient city of Halikarnassos) and the Dalyan River where Lycian tombs are cut into the cliffs by the sea.
The couple had always planned their own trips but knew that they wanted to do a Mediterranean cruise for their upcoming anniversary. A friend (and previous participant) referred them to Hellenic Adventures, and they contacted Leftheris to discuss their plans. After the initial consultation, Brenda and Jeff knew that they had to travel to Greece. “It was really easy for us to talk to Leftheris and the staff at HA. Leftheris had the knowledge to translate what we were looking for into where to go and what to do while traveling in Greece.”
With Leftheris’ advice, they rented a car to travel outside of Athens to visit the mountain villages of Mt. Pelion and the ancient site of Delphi, “a perfect end” to their trip. One of their fondest memories was hiking in Mt. Pelion with one of Hellenic Adventures’ professional escorts. “We loved hiking with Dimitris on the narrow trails. He took us on one trek by the ocean that had breathtaking views; I still get goose bumps just thinking about it!”
“The trip exceeded our expectations—everyday was a new adventure. And just when we thought the next day couldn’t get better, it did!!! Greece is an amazing country, with spectacular scenery, friendly people, and lots of surprises around every corner. We didn’t have the same day twice.”
Brenda and Jeff are happy to share their experiences and their favorite photos taken throughout their adventure. Take a glimpse through the eyes of these very happy travelers.
